Cleanse, Twist & Flow- Unwind Your Mind Detox Your Body

Hot Yoga Dublin, Northern Cross

Many of us suffer with back pain, specifically in the lower back but instead of addressing the root cause we try to power through it thinking that bending our knees when we lift things is the answer. The key lies in the core. Every athlete needs a strong core.

This workshop is designed to fire up the core and build core strength- with initial benefits including releasing lower back pain and overall body balance. There will be a strong core flow combined with strengthening and lengthening poses for the back. By understanding how to use your core in every pose you will not only improve your posture and release lower back pain but will achieve a significant improvement in overall body strength to enhance your existing training routine.

Core & Hips Workshop

The Yoga Sanctuary, Malahide

Core focused vinyasa, designed to strengthen from the inside out. Building heat to create space, then slow down to explore the space created. Bridging from the core to the hips via the Iliopsoas, the muscular links between the power of our core muscles, and the complexity of the hip joint; A smooth transition from effort to ease.
Slowing down to deep yin style poses to open the hips; With an emphasis on using the breath to go deeper into postures, training the mind to surrender, as opposed to forcing, the body into poses. Closing with a deep relaxation.

Transform your practice with yoga foundations

Morning intensive Series at The Yoga Hub, Camden Place

Overview

This is not a beginners course but more about understanding how your body should feel in every pose. We all form bad habits in yoga classes and our bodies automatically take a certain shape when the teacher calls out a pose but so often we are not listening in to our bodies and understanding how our bodies should feel in the pose. We are all different so each person will have their own edge, their own strengths and weaknesses but yet we become so focused on what other people are doing and the ego takes over.

This intensive is for the body & mind. We will look at poses and sequences in detail, working on alignment and muscle engagement. We will also explore that internal competitive need and look at why the mind often triumphs over what the body needs. This series will look at leaving the ego off the mat and learning how to tune into your body and let your body be your guide both on and off the yoga mat.

Join me on this journey of physical and mental discovery to transform your yoga practice.

Day 1: A look at your Asana

Starting with the vinyasa sequence we will break down the poses and start to look at the role the ego plays in your practice

Day 2: Yoga practice not perfect

Continuing the theme of breaking down poses and starting to find our own edge in every pose.

Day 3: What the mind wants the body doesn’t always need

Challenging ourselves to listen to our body and leave our ego off the mat as we move through a sequence to challenge the mind and body to our individual limits.

Day 4: All about me

Bringing together the learnings of days 1-3 both physically and mentally- we will explore some more challenging poses and also experiment with a blind practice to encourage us to tune inwards and find our edge.
